Accessing the website and server log files

When you visit our website, our web hosting provider automatically records technical information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page visited, browser type and operating system, and the previously visited page. This data is necessary for the secure and stable operation of the website and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functional and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our hosting provider processes this data on our behalf.

Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form, by email or by phone, we process your details (name, email address, subject, message and, where applicable, phone number and travel dates) in order to answer your enquiry and prepare a booking. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not pass on this data without your consent.

Booking and stay

To arrange your stay, we process the necessary data, such as name, address, contact details, travel period and payment information (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). In addition, we are legally obliged to record certain details in the guest register and to pay the local tourist tax (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We retain booking data for as long as required by tax and registration retention obligations.

Maps provided by OpenStreetMap

On the “Directions” page, we embed a map from OpenStreetMap, operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. When the map is loaded, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap, as the map data could not otherwise be displayed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing clear directions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

The “Plan your route in Google Maps” button is a simple link. Only when you click it will you be redirected to Google Maps, where Google’s privacy policy applies.

Cookies

Our website only uses technically necessary cookies, for example to save your language selection. These cookies do not contain any data for advertising or analytics purposes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functional website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time; some functions may then not be available.

Fonts

The fonts used on this website are loaded locally from our server. No connection is made to servers of Google or other font providers.

Storage period

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations. The data is then deleted.
